Dwaraka Tirumala Temple, located 42 km from Eluru in Andhra Pradesh’s West Godavari district, is a revered shrine dedicated to Lord Venkateswara. The Temple holds great spiritual significance and is named after the saint Dwaraka.

One of the highlights of the Temple’s rituals is the Nitya Arjitha Kalyanam, a daily ceremonial wedding performed for the deity. Devotees flock to witness and participate in this divine experience. The Temple remains open for darshan and poojas from 6:00 am to 9:30 pm, offering ample time for visitors to seek blessings and immerse themselves in its serene ambience.

History of Temple

After the great saint “Dwaraka,” who found the self-manifested idol of Lord “Sri Venkateswara” after performing intense penance in a “Valmikam,” this pilgrimage site is known as “Dwaraka Tirumala” (ant hill). The name Sri Venkateswara, given by his followers, is Kali Yuga Vaikunta Vasa. This location is also known as “Chinna Tirupati.”

Festivals in the Temple

Sri Venkateswara Swamy Devasthanam will celebrate the important festival Tiru Kalyanostavam. The other major festivals celebrated are Swamy Vari Vysakha Kalyanam and Radhotsavam in April–May, Swamy Vari Aswayuja Kalyanam and Radhotsavam in September–October, Giripradakshina in January, Pavithrotsavams in September, Teppotsavam/ Boat Festival in Nrusimha Sagar Tank in November.

Prasadam

At the Dwaraka Tirumala Temple, “Laddu” is distributed as prasadam. After Nivedana to the goddess, Daddojanam, Kattupongali, Sarkarapongali, Pulihora, Kadhambam, Gaarimukkalu, and Appalu are distributed daily to the worshippers in this Temple.
