Tulip Festival Kashmir is celebrated yearly at the Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden, situated at the foothills of the Zabarwan Range in Srinagar, Kashmir. Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden is Asia’s most extensive tulip garden, attracting people interested in flora.

The Floriculture Department organisers plan to plant 1.5 million tulip bulbs of 62 varieties in the Tulip Garden. The tulip garden has spread over 30 hectares of land, giving a breathtaking view of the Dal Lake and snow-capped mountains. The tulip festival in Kashmir started in 2007 to develop tourism in the Kashmir Valley, and it has done quite well since then.

The tulip festival in Kashmir starts with the entry of the spring season in the valley. This year, the festival will be celebrated from April 1 to April 20. The 20 days of celebration attract nature lovers and floriculture enthusiasts to welcome the spring season and witness the blooming tulips.

Photography Competition at Tulip Festival Kashmir:

A photography contest will be held during the festival from February 14 to February 24 by the vice chairman of the NDMC. The NDMC website has information about the competition. On its online media platform, NDMC will upload three of the top pictures each day. After the match, the best picture will be recognised.
